For more than 25 years, Jon and his family have successfully operated a painting business, providing exceptional commercial services to a vast clientele. In the summer of 2018, they undertook a significant exterior paint project in Southern California, where temperatures reached the hundreds for several weeks, coupled with stringent deadlines.

 

Frequently, the entire workforce were under shaded areas attempting to cool down and suffering from heat-related illness, including exhaustion, fatigue, and dehydration, with some requiring medical assistance. Also, during that same summer, Jon's doctor noted skin blemishes on his face and arms during a routine check-up. Following this assessment, his physician recommended that he reduce his sun exposure and schedule a procedure to address the blemishes.

 

It is widely recognized that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight carries significant health risks, a topic often highlighted on construction job sites. Jon, like many construction workers worldwide, continually face the dangers associated with sun-related health problems while working under the direct sun for long periods of time.

 

That is when Jon and his family invented the Boom Shade to help solve this issue.
